About me
Dr. Kim Rimbey (Ph.D. in mathematics curriculum & instruction) loves teaching and learning! She loves exploring the ways in which children think about math and challenging teachers to rethink their assumptions about how to make math meaningful for children. With degrees in both mathematics and elementary education, Kim begin her career as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher. To her core, she believes that she learned everything she needs to know about teaching and learning in kindergarten (plus all the amazing influencers she has worked with throughout the years)! Since then, she has served as a school-based mathematics coach, district-based executive CIA director, district-based mathematics director, and Chief Learning Officer for the Rodel Foundation of Arizona and, most recently, for KP Mathematics (a company she co-owns with Peggy Akin - Kim & Peggy are the K&P in KP Mathematics). Kim strives to be a leader who has NOT FORGOTTEN the realities of classroom teaching.
