Participants will engage in a student-hat experience to figure out a real-world phenomenon using Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) structures and three-dimensional (3D) NGSS learning. Through this experience, they will develop a lived understanding of how BTC elevates student science thinking, supports phenomenon-centered lessons that prioritize student sense-making, and leverages Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs) within the task. Participants will leave with a ready-to-use structure for planning a launch and 3D task that supports students in developing, revising, and explaining ideas using evidence.
